Ministry Overview:
Dorion Bible Camp & Conference Centre is one of 43 camps owned and operated by One Hope Canada. The Camp has been in operation since 1946 in Dorion, just 50 minutes east of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
One Hope Canada is considered a religious order under the Income Tax Act of Canada. As such, missionary employment with One Hope is seen as a response to God’s unique invitation. Members, and those aspiring to become members, must be in agreement with standards of spiritual and personal suitability; therefore, they are required to sign a Statement of Affirmation annually.
Our camps are week-long overnight camps during the summer months and shorter camps throughout the remainder of the year. We also operate Eagle’s Nest Conference Centre for guest groups, hosting and providing meals and lodging to a variety of guests.
Our property of 121 acres presently has a year-round lodge on it called Eagles Nest, two staff homes, office facilities, various outbuildings, hiking trails, a creek, a beautiful view of Black Bay, and Mt. Lister our 40-foot climbing tower.

Ministry Director Job Posting
One Hope Canada is currently seeking a Ministry Director for Dorion Bible Camp and Conference Centre in Thunder Bay Ontario. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to lead, operate and oversee Dorion Bible Camp and Conference Centre in a manner that provides for the effective proclamation of the Gospel, the ongoing stability of the Camp, the safety of all persons on the property and the operation of the property in compliance with industry standards and the standards set by One Hope Canada and the Dorion Bible Camp Board of Directors. He or she leads the staff team in serving in their various roles. These responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that will glorify Jesus Christ and fulfil the Purpose and Mission of One Hope Canada and Dorion Bible Camp. The Ministry Director serves under the general supervision of the Ontario Field Director of One Hope Canada and the management of the Dorion Bible Camp Board of Directors.
Main Responsibilities

Leadership
Facilitates and evaluates spiritual growth, leadership, visioning, planning, and team development aspects of the ministry

Collaboration
Serves and communicates effectively under the Leadership of the Ontario Field Director and the Management of the Ministry Board. Networks and builds strong relationships with the community, pastors, churches, supporters regional One Hope and other camps, and other camp user groups
- Supervision
Directly supervises, evaluates and oversees leadership staff (i.e. Program Director, Site Manager, Director of Food Services and Hospitality, and Office Administrator)

Administration
Provides administration and management in the following areas: finances, including Board, approved operating budget and proper accounting of income and expenses; capital budget input as required; attendance at Board meetings and provision of reports and communication as required by the Board or Field Director; compliance with legalities and regulations; familiarity with current Camp related issues and trends.

Promotion and Marketing
Works with Board and ministry staff to present the needs and vision of the ministry and promote and assist with fundraising

Development
Works with the Board in moving forward with the vision for ministry and property development.
Performs other related duties as required
Financial Arrangements
The successful candidate becomes a full-time Missionary with One Hope Canada. This is not a salaried position. Accepted candidates are required to acquire a support base of monthly donors and are able to begin their assignment once they have salary in place, as approved by One Hope Canada. The Camp may provide a monthly contribution towards the required support out of the operating budget.

Site Manager job posting
One Hope Canada is currently seeking a Site Manager for Dorion Bible Camp and Conference Centre in Dorion Ontario. The ideal candidate for this position will have the experience, training and capabilities to provide effective supervision and facilitation of the safety, maintenance and upkeep of rural property including buildings, equipment and associated systems. These responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that will glorify Jesus Christ and fulfill the
Purpose and Mission of One Hope Canada and Dorion Bible Camp. The Site Manager serves under and reports to the Ministry Director or Camp Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide preventative maintenance/repairs on all grounds, buildings and equipment
- Maintain government standards on water, sewage, heating, fire protection and electrical systems
- Set budgets and provide financial reports
- Estimate and present costs for approval on all major repairs, projects and equipment
- Manage volunteer workers/work teams
- Perform or oversee winter heating needs and snow removal
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Perform or oversee all custodial services
- Other duties as requested by the Camp Director
Qualifications Required
- Has a consistent and mature spiritual relationship with Jesus as Saviour and Lord
- Is a team player
- Is able to work with and lead volunteers
- Has experience in such areas as carpentry, construction, mechanics, plumbing, electrical, water and heating systems
- Is able to work within a budget
- Is willing to assist when and where needed
